Keep mobile and stay active! There are a variety of programs and services for Solano County Older Adults and People with Disabilities to help keep you active and involved in your communities without having to drive.
Solano County Veterans can access Veterans Affairs and Medical facilities within Solano County and several locations in Contra Costa by participating in STA’s Medical Trip Concierge (GoGo) Service or the Solano County Intercity Taxi Card (ITX) Program.
• Both programs are 60% subsidized (80% if Low Income qualified)
• No age restrictions
• No ADA eligibility requirements
• Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles available*
*Participation in the ITX program required for wheelchair accessible rides and access to Travis AFB Outpatient Clinic.

Suisun City Local Taxi Program
The Suisun City Local Taxi Program is administered through Solano Mobility, which is a program of the Solano Transportation Authority. The Local Taxi Program is available to all residents of Suisun City who are 60 years of age or older, or residents who are ADA paratransit qualified. Program participants may ride the taxi both within the City of Suisun and between Suisun and Fairfield. You must show proof of eligibility each time you ride the taxi under this program.
This program utilizes the PEX card, which is a pre-paid debit card, for cab fare. Taxi trips taken under this program must be paid for with the participant’s assigned PEX card. Cash is not accepted for taxi trips taken under this program. To obtain a PEX card, please fill out the application below.
Once a participant has received PEX card, funds may be purchased in increments of $10 for $25 in taxi funds. Taxi scrip is not to be used for tipping the drivers. Low Income options are also available. Taxi trips are available for curb-to-curb service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Benicia Lyft Program
Solano Transportation Authority (STA) will pay a portion of your Lyft rides throughout the city of Benicia, and to Springstown Center in Vallejo. These rides are valid only to specific destinations and between the hours of 6am-9pm for Benicia residents. To qualify you must be an older adult (65+), a veteran, or ADA eligible. If your pickup or drop-off is outside the specified areas, the discount is not valid.

How do I sign up for the program?
To sign up for the program, you will need to first contact Solano Mobility at 800-535-6883. The call center staff will ask you to submit one of three documents:
Please download the Lyft app to your smartphone after you have submitted your application. Once staff has received the supporting information, discount will be applied on your smartphone within 24-48 hours.
How much does it cost?
$4 per trip for qualified individuals
$3 per trip for low-income qualified
What if I am in a wheel chair, can I still participate in the program?
Yes. Please make sure to let the call center staff know that you are in a wheel chair prior to signing up, so they can provide you with the correct information.
What if I don't have a smart phone?
If you don’t have a smart phone you can still use the program. Let call center staff know when you are signing up so they can give you the correct information.
Lyft requires a debit/ credit card to be on file. What if I don't have one?
If you do not have a debit or credit card, you will need to purchase a prepaid debit card available at many retail stores.

Safe Routes for Seniors
The California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) has awarded the Solano Transportation Authority’s (STA) Solano Mobility Program a safety grant totaling $110,000. The Grant will be used to promote pedestrian safety among Seniors/Older Adults in Solano, with the goal of engaging the community, sharing information, and collaborating with key city and county stakeholders to find solutions to make local roadways safer. This is the third grant that OTS will be partnering with STA on to improve safety in Solano County.

Solano Older Adults Medical Trip Concierge Service
Are you having trouble getting to your medical appointments?
Solano Mobility’s Medical Trip Concierge Service Program provides subsidized Uber and Lyft rides through GoGo Grandparent, for Solano County residents to get to and from medical appointments, within Solano County. To qualify you must be aged 60 or older. Appointments can include trips to the hospital, dentist, chiropractor, pharmacy, etc.
Also, ambulatory Solano Veterans of any age can get to Travis AFB, the Martinez VA clinic, the Hume Center and the Med Evals/QTR Assessment Center in Concord.
How does the program work?
Once you register with Solano Mobility, the Call Center Representative will provide you the number for GoGo Grandparent, to call, when you are ready to book a ride.
*Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle on your own.

How do I pay my portion of the ride?

No, rides are only with in Solano County. If you violate these terms, you may be removed from the program.
Do my rides roll over to the next month?
No, you get 20 rides a month. If you do not use them, they will not roll over to the next month.

Volunteer Driver & Non-Profit Programs
Free door-to-door rides for ambulatory seniors (60+) and those under 60 with specific medical issues. Offered throughout Solano County. Specific restrictions apply for each provider. Advance reservation is required. Donations are accepted.

Travel Training
Want to ride the bus, but don’t know how? Our travel training program provides free training so that you can learn to safely and confidently use public fixed route transit within Solano County. Our friendly travel trainers will meet with you and customize trainings that fit your needs and, they will go with you every step of the way.

Vehicle Share Program
Thanks to funding from the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, the Solano Transportation Authority purchased two wheelchair accessible vans for the Vehicle Share Program. This program would allow the vehicles to be shared amongst multiple non-profits organizations that provide services for older adults and people with disabilities in Solano County. GoGo Grandparent
Want to use Uber or Lyft, but don’t have a smartphone? GoGoGrandparent helps older adults maintain their independence by accessing on-demand services like Uber & Lyft with a simple phone call (no smartphone required). Registering is easy and allows access to 24/7 operator assistance, the ability to set up automatic rides for fixed medical appointments and keep family members informed with updates.

Solano County Intercity Taxi Card Program
The Solano County Intercity Taxi ( ITX) Card program can be used by Qualified ADA (Americans with Disability Act) certified individuals to pay for taxi fare. Also, any Solano County Veteran (ambulatory and non-ambulatory) can use the program to get to Solano County Medical Facilities, Travis AFB, the Martinez VA clinic, the Hume Center and Med Evals/QTR Assessment Center in Concord.
The ITX is issued on a pre-paid PEX debit card. You can use this card like a credit card to pay for taxi rides between transit service areas, but not in your local city (except Benicia, Vallejo, and Suisun City). Eligible members may purchase $100 of taxi card funds for $40 or $20 for low-income certified individuals. To qualify for the low income discount, please fill out the income verification form and email it to Solanomobility@sta.ca.gov or mail it to Solano Mobility, 423 Main Street, Suisun City, CA 94585-2413 .
The ITX cards may be loaded in person or over the phone. It is recommended you schedule 48 hours in advance to ensure your ride.
Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available for individuals that are non-ambulatory. You must schedule ride 24 hours advance.
ITX card purchases are non-refundable. Limitations apply to the amount of fare you may purchase in any given month and vary from city to city. Program details vary. For more information click here.

Senior Clipper Card
Adults 65 and over are eligible for a free Senior Clipper card. With a Senior Clipper card, you can receive discounts on passes, cash value fares and transfers on fixed-route transit services throughout Solano County and the Bay Area. It’s simple and easy to travel on all types of transit – bus, BART, and ferry. (NOTE: Exclusion on Rio Vista Delta Breeze and/or paratransit and Dixon Readi-Ride)
