The shelter-in-place order across California, due to COVID-19, has caused many events across the Bay Area to be cancelled or postponed. Bike to Work Day 2020, originally scheduled for Thursday, May 14, has been postponed until the fall. Event details are still TBD. Be on the lookout for additional information over the summer about BTWD and related activities.
In May, STA organizes Solano Bike Month to promote the benefits of cycling to Solano County residents. Events are held throughout the county in all seven cities. Two of these events, Bike to Work Day and National Bike to School Day, occur each year as part of a larger, region wide event.
Bike to Work Day – Held each year in May, the Bike to Work Day campaign encourages commuters in Solano County (and across the Bay Area) to bike to work or add to along their commute that day. Energizer Stations are set up countywide where participants who come by receive incentives. Click here for a list of energizer stations
Bike Commuter of the Year – From March 2 through March 27, nominations will be open to honor your favorite bike commuter of the year! Someone who champions pedaling, inspires you and others, and sets a great example for how bicycling is good for them, the environment and their community.
